Liverpool and Arsenal are both interested to sign Girona’s dynamic duo who played a key role in qualifying for the Champions League last season. Both of the Premier League giants are said to have sent their respective scouts to monitor the players.
The Girona duo in discussion is Miguel Gutierrez and Viktor Tsygankov. Gutierrez plays as a left back and helps his team a lot in attack. On the other hand, Tsygankov mainly plays as right winger but can also adapt and play as an attacking midfielder.
Both the players were very important for Girona last season. Gutierrez scored 2 goals and 7 assists in 35 league matches whereas Tsygankov scored 8 goals and 7 assists in 30 league matches. Girona finished on the 3rd position in La Liga and qualified for Champions League.
Liverpool and Arsenal target Girona duo
Girona lost many of their main players from last season this summer. Artem Dovbyk, Alex Garcia and Savinho (who was on loan) all moved away from the club. As a result, Girona are on 10th position in La Liga right now.
The Spanish club will not want to lose more of their main players. But, they will need to part ways with Gutierrez and Tsygankov if a suitable offer arrives. As per Football365, the duo would cost around €75 million.
Arsenal and Liverpool both sent their scouts to watch the Girona players play against PSG. Girona had to face defeat in their Champions League opener at Paris. Despite the defeat, Gutierrez had a good game and Tsygankov was pretty decent too.
Girona boss loves both players but the club may sell them if they receive a good offer. Gutierrez has played all 6 matches for the club this season. He has also provided 1 assist. On the other hand, Tsygankov has played 5 matches and has claimed 1 goal and 1 assist.
