Who is Jorrel Hato?
Hato is 18 years old Dutch defender who plays for Ajax. He is the product of Ajax academy which widely known for producing world class talents. In 2022/23 season, Hato made his debut for the senior team at very young age and is now their regular starter.
Last season he played 46 matches for Ajax and caught attention of many top clubs. This season he has added goals and assists to his superb defence which makes him one of the best asset any club can wish for.
Hato has already scored 3 times and assisted 4 times this season in 20 matches. This has caught attention of Premier League clubs but Ajax have him tied down with a contract running until 2028. Despite a longterm contract, it looks very likely that the player will join big club next year.
Liverpool and Arsenal plotting a move for Jorrel Hato
As per The Athletic, Gunners are long term admirers of Hato. They like the versatility of the defender along with his attacking traits. Arsenal already have a lot if options at the back but some are very close to exit.
Zinchenko and Kiwior may be sold by Gunners next year. This will open a space in the backline and Arteta will like to add a young defender there. Hato could be perfect fit as he is just 18 and may develop into a world class defender very soon.
On the other hand, Liverpool are planning to replace their current superstar Virgil van Dijk. Van Dijk is in his final year of contract and will turn 34 next year. He will need a successor soon and his compatriot Hato has all the qualities needed to replace him.
