Liverpool and Manchester United linked with £72 million Villarreal youngster

Liverpool and Manchester United consistently reported among few other Premier League Clubs to chase Villarreal Star Samuel Chukwueze.

The 21-year-old established himself as a regular member of the Villarreal first team in recent seasons, making 37 La Liga appearances in 2019-20 and featuring in all but one of their matches so far this term.

Chukwueze form in these games has attracted the attention of a Host of Europe’s Top Clubs, with Real Madrid leading the race to claim his signature.

According to Spanish publication, La Razon, Madrid is hoping to launch a double swoop on Villarreal to sign both Chukwueze and teammate Pau Torres.

The report adds that Madrid would be willing to pay £72 million for the pair, as well as offering a player in part-exchange. However, Madrid is in an utter situation facing huge fearful competition for Chukwueze, with the top European Club’s chase for his signature.

Manchester United views the Nigeria international as a possible alternative to Jadon Sancho, in reference to his La Liga form.

While Chelsea, Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Everton have also been credited with an interest as he was titled the Precocious winger with UEFA Europa League experience, the Nigeria Football Federation’s young player of the year for 2017/18.

Liverpool’s verdict over Samuel Chukwueze signature.

Liverpool has no real need to sign Chukwueze at the moment because he is viewed as an exciting option for long-term acquisition. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane slowly approaching 30, they are to be replaced one day, as sad as that may be to accept.

Diogo Jota already looks a tailor-made long-term star at Liverpool and Chukwueze could operate on the right flank, cutting inside on his deadly left foot.

The Reds’ interest is concrete, but it is encouraging to see them linked with top-class young prospects. Liverpool also had an offer rejected in the summer window of 2019 for Samuel Chukwueze.
