Liverpool are believed to be in pole position to sign top Arsenal target. The player is having a superb season in Premier League and his current club wants to keep him despite the growing interest.
The star in question here is Alexander Isak of Newcastle United. The 25 year old was unstoppable last season where he scored 25 goals along with 2 assists. He has levelled up this season as he already has 17 goals along with 4 assists.
Isak has been constantly looked upon by Arsenal who are keen to sign a clinical striker. However, Newcastle are unwilling to part ways with the 25 year old. But, it can be hard for them to keep the hold of Isak due to their current position.
Earlier, Isak was reported to have a fall-out with Magpies over new contract. He wants to play Champions League football and hence may be open for a move. Amidst the interest from Gunners, Liverpool are now believed to be in string position to sign Isak.

Steve Kay has reported that the Reds are amongst the most persistent suitors of the 25 year old striker. He added that they are in best position to strike a deal for Isak in the future. His statements clearly indicate that the Reds have lead in the race.
However, it will still be hard for Liverpool to get the deal done. The Magpies are demanding a hefty fee and it is said that it will require British record fee to lure Isak away from Newcastle. Current british record deal is set at £115 million when Chelsea signed Moises Caicedo.
As for Arsenal, their talks with Juventus for Vlahovic has already fallen down. Now, it seems like they may also miss out on Isak. Earlier, Gyokeres was also reported to be close to joining Man United. This leaves only Benjamin Sesko and Victor Osimhen for them.
