Liverpool boss hails outstanding Arsenal star’s performance

FINANCIAL FAIR PLAY

Liverpool boss Arne Slot was very impressed by the performance of Bukayo Saka who opened the scoring for Arsenal yesterday.

Arsenal and Liverpool both shared points yesterday in an impressive match at The Emirates. Both clubs were very good and there was nothing of seperate between them. Liverpool were clear favourites to win the match but failed to do so which saw them lose the 1st place in Premier League.

Mikel Arteta had lot of main players missing the game. Later in second half, Gabriel also left the pitch due to injury. But they will still able to restrict the Reds and earned the important point.

Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber who were both doubtful, started the game and Saka was able to drop a masterclass. He has now been highly praised by Liverpool boss for his first goal and overall performance.

“Yeah, the first goal was an example of this where you saw the quality of Saka. Maybe we had to do better but sometimes you have to give credits to these special wingers who are playing these games and I think Saka, especially in the first half, played an outstanding game” – Arne Slot praising Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal captain Saka against Liverpool

Saka entered the pitch wearing the captain’s armband. It took only 9 minutes for Saka to show why Arteta trusts him with the armband. Yesterday’s goal is Saka’s 50th Premier League of his career and it was very special. He missed the last two matches in which Arsenal struggled to score. Saka came on and quickly showed why he is an integral part of the squad.

Saka completed 15 passes and had 2 total shots. He had 41 touches out of which 4 came in opposition box. He also completed 2 dribbles along with making 1 tackle and 5 recoveries. Lastly, Saka won 5 ground duels with 71% success rate and 2 ariel duels with 100% success rate. All stats are as per FOTMOB.
