Juventus are looking to offload Argentine forward Paulo Dybala in the upcoming summer transfer window. He joined The Old Lady from Palermo in 2015 for €40 million. And now Dybala might be on his way to Liverpool this summer.
The Old Lady of Turin are going to rebuild from the next season under manager Andrea Pirlo. And for that, they are trying to sell players who are on high wages to generate summer transfer budget.
Roberto Firmino‘s form and injury to new signing Diego Jota have cost the defending champions this season. So Liverpool are looking to find a player like Firmino and they identified Dybala as the main target. Juventus Club director Fabio Paratici has claimed that the two parties are involved in negotiations, and it will be interesting to see if they can sort out an agreement soon.
Dybala’ situation at Juventus is going to fuel Liverpool’ pursuit
Bianconeri tried to swap Dybala for Romelu Lukaku in the Summer of 2019. However, the deal fell through and Lukaku went to rivals Inter Milan and they are on the verge of winning the Scudetto with him spearheading their attack.
Dybala has struggled this season, he had a few injury problems and also tested positive for having Covid-19. All of this lead to him falling down the pecking order with Pirlo. He managed to start only ten games this season and scored just three goals.
Dybala’s contract runs out in the summer of 2022 and Liverpool are hopeful of signing him at a cut-price. Reports claim that the Turin club value their star at £60 million, but The Reds will surely try to negotiate that fee to a lower price.
It won’t be easy to sign the 27-years-old creative forward as there will be competition for his service. Other Premier League clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on Dybala. We have yet another bidding war in this Summer Transfer window.
