Liverpool keeping tabs on Marco Asensio for a transfer next summer

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

According to several reports, Liverpool are keeping tabs on Marco Asensio as they look to sign the Real Madrid winger next summer.

The reds have a major fan of the Spaniard as they were interested to sign him earlier also but offers were turned down. However, Liverpool can lay their hands on Asensio this time due to his unhappy role at Madrid.

Marco Asensio joined his dream club Real Madrid back in 2016 from the Spanish side Espanyol. And since his debut, he has made 196 appearances in which he scored 37 goals and 22 assists.

The 25-year-old has also lifted 10 major trophies at Madrid which includes two Champions League and two La Liga titles. However, he is not considered a major starter in the first team as a result, he is deprived of more game time.

But he may get his fresh start at England if Liverpool comes knocking at Madrid’s door for signing Asensio. Liverpool had a quiet transfer window as they only signed one player Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.

The reds mainly focused on tying down their first-team players into long contracts this summer. Following which it seems Liverpool might be having a plan for next summer.

And that plan includes signing Marco Asensio as a new winger for the next season. Liverpool lost Xherdan Shaqiri to Olympique Lyonnais this summer following which they need a replacement in the wing. And who better than Asensio to succeed the Swiss in the right-wing.

We have already seen what talent Asensio possesses in his left foot, with his long shots and getting inside the box. And seeing that talent it can be predicted that under Jurgen Klopp the Spaniard will be able to flourish more. However, to know if Liverpool are ready to make a bid for Asensio, we have to wait until next summer.
