Alisson Becker ruled out for two weeks, another casualty for Liverpool’ title race

Liverpool is in a complete state of aspersion because of the goalkeeper Alisson Becker’s latest hamstring update, adding on to the unceasing list of player injuries.

The pandemic enforced delay to the start of 2020-21 Premier League marked new changes and restrictions in protocols to ensure player welfare and safety.

Manager Jurgen Klopp has ruled out the Brazilian International Becker for up to two weeks with a hamstring strain, intensifying the defensive departments of Liverpool.

The 28-year-old world-class goal stopper has picked up the injury in the second half of the 1-1 draw against Brighton in the Champions League, but he left after successfully fulfilling his duty to the game.

He is replaced with Ireland under-21 International Caoimhin Kelleher with the usual stand-in Adrian only part of the substitutes at Anfield, continued Jurgen Klopp.

Caoimh or Adrian? Caoimh, I have known for four or five years now. He is with the first team and improving and improving.

“He is a proper football-playing goalie and a good shot-stopper, which is the most important. My job is to make decisions and I have done that.

Klopp continues to have a persistent track on the medical records of his player injuries stating:

He told us after the Brighton game that around the 60th or 70th minute, he felt his hamstring. So this scan showed a little [injury] but enough [to keep him out] today.

So it is not COVID, which is something that was mentioned and it is not the case.

The Merseyside Giants is having a tough time with Trent Alexander Arnold, Thiago Alcantara, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Xherdan Shaqiri are all off while Naby Keita and James Milner are in their medical observation, nursing on their own.

Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk remain long-term absences after both undergoing knee surgery in recent weeks while Alisson’s issue could force him to sit on the sidelines for upcoming games with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Midtjylland, and Fulham.

The Reds would assemble in their next game on Sunday at Anfield against Wolverhampton wanderers, the team which defeated Arsenal away over the weekend.
