Liverpool are planning to disrupt the plans of both Arsenal and Chelsea in summer by signing their top target in summer. This increases the possibility of the striker in question ending in England next season even further.
The star in question here is Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig. Gunners tried to sign him in summer 2024 but the deal ended in failure. Instead, Sesko opted to sign a contract extension which keeps him at Germany until 2029. But, there is strong belief that he’ll leave this summer.
Arsenal are still keen to sign Sesko and are trying really hard. They also have other options but the Slovenian remains the favourite to end at Emirates. Along with Gunners, their london rivals Chelsea are also showing strong interest in 21 year old.
Liverpool join the race to sign Benjamin Sesko
According to TBR Football, Liverpool have joined the race to sign Sesko. They have made enquiries in the recent days as striker is their top priority for the summer. In addition, the report states that Sesko may be allowed to leave on a lower fee.
Sesko has set a new release clause in his contract. It was said to be €70 million at the moment but it will rise with goals, assists and the matches played. It is believed that it will reach €80 million the coming summer window.
RB Leipzig will allow Sesko to leave on lower fee but will want an offer that respects their demands. Liverpool are open to spend big on striker. They are said to part ways with Darwin Nunez. In addition, they may also opt to let Diogo Jota leave to raise funds.
Lastly the reports state that despite Liverpool’s introduction to the race, Arsenal and Chelsea are still leading the race. However, Liverpool’s introduction to the race has increased the chances of Slovenian international to end at England this summer.
