Liverpool have provided an update about the injury of 18-year-old attacking-midfielder Harvey Elliott through an official statement on their website.
The Reds are showing their class once again this season as they thrashed Marcelo Bielsa’s side by 3-0 in their backyard. Mohamed Salah opened the account in the first half and Fabinho doubled the margin early in the second half. Sadio Mane scored the third late in the evening after wasting loads of chances throughout the game.
On a great win in the Premier League for Jurgen Klopp’s side. The 18-year-old’s severe injury was a point of concern for the Liverpool fans. The youngster suffered ankle dislocation on his left foot in a collision with Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk who received the red card.

According to the club’s website, the young Englishman was released from the hospital following a few check-ups and the player will have to undergo surgery in the upcoming days. The official statement:
” Liverpool Football Club can confirm Harvey Elliott has been discharged from hospital after suffering a serious ankle injury in the game against Leeds United on Sunday.
” The 18-year-old was stretchered from the field at Elland Road after sustaining the injury in a challenge midway through the second half.
” Elliott will be required to undergo surgery in the coming days and the club will offer a further update on his prognosis in due course.
” Harvey, his family and Liverpool FC would like to place on record their thanks to the paramedics and all the staff at Leeds General Infirmary for the care and treatment given.”
It is a very sad scene for the youngster who has started the season brightly and managed to become a regular first-team player under Jurgen Klopp. After a confident boosting loan spell at Blackburn Rovers last term in the Championship. The Englishman started to showcase his talent in front of the world.
However, this injury will keep him away from the action for quite a while. And it will be interesting to see if he can replicate the same performance or not after the return. And we all hope for a speedy recovery of the young man.
