The Reds are back in action for the Premier League clash after their mid-week 0-2 victory over RB Leipzig in the round of 16, the first leg of the UEFA Champions League. This is going to be an interesting counter with just one place and three points separating the two sides in the Premier League table.
The champions have lost three matches in a row in the Premier League and now they look to get back on the winning ways as they might have gained a lot of confidence by not only defeating RB Leipzig 2-0 but keeping a clean sheet as well.
Liverpool vs Everton Preview:
Liverpool are currently plummeted sixth place following a disappointing dip in their performance over the past month in the Premier League giving their neighbors a chance to move level in terms of points with them.
Everton on the other hand have improved a lot with the involvement of the Colombian playmaker James Rodríguez. Looking at the current form of both the teams in the last 5 matches Liverpool have won only twice and lost 3 while their neighbours from across Stanley park have won only once and lost 3 in their last five encounters of the Premier League.
Although, Liverpool have looked vulnerable in defense their number 11 Mohamed Salah continues to find the net thrice in the last four matches taking his telly to 17 securing the top spot in the goal-scoring list of the Premier League.
While Everton who looked sharp at the starting of this season is now struggling to get back to the run they displayed at the beginning of this season. It is going to be a fascinating contest to watch as both look to get back on the winning tracks.
Liverpool vs Everton Team News:
Liverpool could welcome back Naby Keita in the squad as he is now back to the full training after being two out for two months. While Ben Davies and Divok Origi might seem to get a place in the starting 11 looking at the fitness concern from the RB Leipzig game in the mid-week.
Fabinho and James milner remain to be doubtful with their muscle and hamstring injuries respectively.
While Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk all remain to be long time absentees.
Everton would be boosted up with the news of Allan (who has not featured since december 16, last year) and Dominc Calvert-Lewin (who has missed the last two outings with a hamstring injury) fit to start in the weekend clash.
