Liverpool are travelling to Newcastle United on mid-week as they look to maintain a points gap to stay at the top of the Premier League table.
The Reds will be looking to return to winning ways after a disappointing 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion.
Newcastle United vs Liverpool Preview:
The champions sit three points clear at the top of the table and will be favorites to at least keep that lead intact with a victory over Newcastle on Wednesday.
Newcastle United are currently 14th in the league table. They’ve now lost three of their last four games in all competitions, not having won a match since December 12th.
The Magpies are surprisingly unbeaten in their last four top-flight home games against the reigning champions. They will have taken confidence from West Brom’s smash-and-grab showing at Anfield on Sunday.

Newcastle United vs Liverpool Team News:
Liverpool’s injury concerns have worsened by news that Naby Keita and Joel Matip could both be out for a few weeks with muscle injuries.
Thiago Alcântara is getting closer to his return but this game comes just too early for the Spain international midfielder.
Newcastle have a number of absentees themselves, with Jamaal Lascelles and Allan Saint-Maximin still feeling the effects of catching COVID-19.
Jonjo Shelvey and Ryan Fraser are both expected to miss out due to groin injuries, while goalkeeper Martin Dubravka is a long-term absentee.
Newcastle can welcome Callum Wilson back into the fold. He has now scored eight goals in 12 games so far this season.
PREDICTED LINEUPS AND MATCH PREDICTION:
Liverpool (4-3-3) : Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Fabinho, Robertson; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane.
Newcastle United (5-4-1) : Darlow; Manquillo, Fernández, Schär, Clark, Lewis; Almirón, Hayden, Longstaff M, Ritchie; Wilson.
Liverpool are usually good at responding to disappointing results, but Newcastle might take advantage of Liverpool’s defensive crisis.
However, with the league’s top scorer in Mohamed Salah, and both Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino beginning to find form again, the visitors should have enough to return to winning ways.
