Liverpool host Wolves in the English Premier League Gameweek 11 clash at Anfield on Sunday night. The Reds are one of the 10 clubs that are allowed to accept fans into the stadium. The Kop end will finally get to see the Champions play in front of them for the first time.
Liverpool are coming off into this fixture with a 1-1 draw against Brighton. The visitors had to settle for a point after Pascal Gross scored a penalty in injury time.
Everyone got to see an animated Jurgen Klopp in the post-match presser as he took shots at every manager in the Premier League.
“When we had talks between the managers a week ago it was 15-5 if not 16-4 for five subs. Now, since then nothing has happened because you need at least 14 votes but Chris Wilder says constantly that I am selfish.”– Jurgen Klopp on Premier League blocking 5-subs per game rule
Despite this Liverpool are 2nd in the Premier League table with 21 points. They are level with Spurs in points but behind in Goal Difference.
Wolverhampton Wanderers played out of form Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in their Gameweek 10 fixture. They won 2-1 with Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence scoring for the away side.
Wolves are 7th with 17 points after 10 games. If they manage to win against The Reds, they will be only 1 point behind them.
LIVERPOOL VS WOLVES TEAM NEWS:
Liverpool can now field an entire XI of injured players. The worrying thing about this list is there are 7 first team players in that list.
Andrew Robertson and Jordan Henderson joined the list in their midweek fixture against Ajax. However, they are expected to start against Wolves after further assessment of their knock cleared them.
The Reds are without Allison Becker, Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, James Milner, Thiago Alcantara, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. This is the confirmed list of the players with long term injuries.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Naby Keita are back from their respective injuries but it not sure if Klopp sees it that way.
Nuno Santos had a scare last week after Raul Jimenez clashed heads with David Luiz. Jimenez underwent surgery for his cracked skull. However, there is no time slot given by the medical team for his return but Manager Nuno Santos is confident the Mexican forward will play for Wolves again.
