A new era under newly appointed manager Arne Slot will begin for Liverpool on August 17. The Premier League fixture for the 2024/25 season is out. The Reds will be facing newly promoted club Ipswich Town at Portman Road. It will be an afternoon game for Liverpool to which they are habituated very well.
Liverpool, under previous manager Jurgen Klopp, had to play the greatest number of afternoon games. Klopp once complained about this in a before match press conference. This game is also the fourth time in a row that the Reds are starting their season in an away ground. Also, it’s the fifth time in six campaigns where they will face a newly promoted team in their opening game. A very fun fact: Ipswich Town played their last Premier League match in 2002 and it was against Liverpool where they got thrashed by them 5-0.
Some of the fixtures of Liverpool
Liverpool’s first game is an away game at Portman Road against Ipswich Town. Their first home game will be against Brentford. The Reds would face Crystal Palace in their last game of the season. Within the first three matchdays, they would face their arch rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford. Other than that, in the first seven matchdays, the Reds will face teams like Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace, against which they have struggled last year.
It is a new era for Liverpool as after 9 years, they won’t see their beloved ex-manager Jurgen Klopp standing beside the ground. Still, the fans and board are very positive with the Dutchman Arne Slot. It will be a different experience for him, but he is all up for it. Before Liverpool, Slot managed Dutch side Feyenoord and finished 2nd in the season. High hopes are on Slot, but he is very confident about him and his tactics. He believes that the team can definitely compete for the title and even win it.
