Los Balancos set for the homecoming of their prince?

Raul real madrid

Speculation surrounding Carlo Ancelotti’s future is up in the air as Real Madrid host Liverpool on Wednesday for the second leg of the UEFA champions league round of 16.

Although Italian has been linked to the Selecao position in recent weeks to succeed Tite, he has a contract with Real Madrid through 2024, therefore he has no immediate plans to leave the club.
In the late hours of Saturday, Ancelotti declared,

“I’m not leaving here until they fire me”.

Meanwhile, rumors about his replacement is already taking the life of their own. Mikel Arteta was the talk of the town for a while until he shed the light on rumors linking him to Madrid, as the former Arsenal legend has no intention of leaving the gunners who are currently in contention for their first title in nearly 20 years.

The latest rumors suggest that former Real Madrid legend and ex-Real Madrid Castilla coach could take the hot seat.
Should Ancelotti opt to accept the CBF’s request?

The right candidate

Raul’s participation in Madrid’s youth system provides some comfort to Madrid’s management. The factors that favor Ral’s potential candidature for the Real Madrid first-team bench are leadership, charisma, extensive club knowledge, and his technical prowess.
Also, since 2013, the club has chosen to hire coaches who have previously worked at La Fábrica. In fact, Rafa Benitez, Julen Lopetegui, Zidane, and Solari were the last four coaches to meet that standard. The exception to that rule is Ancelotti.

Raul, on the other hand, is certain of his decisions. The Premier League and Real Madrid are his only two possible destinations. The Premier League is his first choice. He will consider accepting any of the bids that come from England if the opportunity to coach the Madrid first squad doesn’t materialize. He received a job offer from Leeds last month to replace Jesse Marsch, who was fired. The former captain thought, nevertheless, that now was not the time to start that specific endeavor.
