Lucas Hernandez on his successful recovery after suffering a crucial injury in the World Cup

Lucas Hernandez suffered a crucial ligament injury during the opening minutes of the France-Australia matchup in the World Cup. He was replaced in the 13th minute by his brother Theo Hernandez.

Lucas has been ruled out of the World Cup officially. While his World Cup dreams are over, the good news is that he had a successful operation. He underwent surgery at Innsbruck by Professor Christian Fink.

Bayern Munich even though his successful operation has been concerned cos it will take time for his full recovery. This is not the first time he is experiencing this. Even before he suffered from an MCL injury which led him to miss a majority of the 18/19 to 19/20 seasons.

How should Bayern cope with Lucas Hernandez’s injury?

Currently, it seems like Lucas is going to miss out on Bayern’s crucial Champions League fixture against PSG which concerns Bayern. But they could still cope as they could play out Pavard as a centre back which he actually prefers even though Nagelsmann prefers him as a right-back. Dayot Upamecano and De ligt are also available and unscathed till now and they make up for the injured CB.

Hernandez is not the only one to be out of the Bayern squad. Mane and Mazraoui both suffered injuries before and during the World Cup which worries Bayern as there might be a lack of depth in their defense when the season starts.

What Deschamps says about the injury

France manager Deschamps after hearing about Hernandez’s injury states:

“Like the whole group, players and staff, I am extremely sorry for Lucas.”

“We are losing an important element. Lucas is a warrior and I have no doubt that he will do everything possible to return to the game. first plan.”

“I know him well, courage, he will have it, that’s for sure. On behalf of the group, I wish him the best possible recovery.”

“It’s a bitter blow for France’s hopes of retaining the World Cup, with Les Bleus already without the likes of Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante going into the tournament.”

So Lucas Hernandez should pray for his recovery as soon as possible. Even though his World Cup venture is over, he will like to be fit and ready for the Bundesliga games with Bayern.
