Lyon submit an offer for Miralem Pjanic of Barcelona

Camavinga

Miralem Pjanic has had a troubled time period at Barcelona. He was never a first-choice midfielder for any coach he played under. The midfielder has been on the bench for almost the entirety of the time in Spain. Barcelona has been grinding out ways to get rid of the Bosnian for a long time now and it finally seems to have paid off. French Club Lyon has come in with an offer for the 32-year-old.

Miralem Pjanic arrived at Barca in 2020 and since then has failed to impress the Catalans. Pjanic spent the last season on loan at Besiktas but did not have much of an impact there also. The Bosnian is back at the club now and will be hoping to prove his haters wrong and impress Xavi. However, the amount of midfielders at the club makes it almost impossible for Pjanic to be even considered an option.

Coach Xavi has already set up his mind on what players are in his plans for next season and Pjanic is not one of them. The club has already started negotiations with other clubs regarding his transfer with many Italian clubs and French clubs interested. But Pjanic will have to take a massive pay cut if he is to join Lyon which is not easy for the Bosnian. It remains to be seen where the Bosnian ends up.

Barcelona planning massive summer squad rebuild

It is no surprise the situation Barcelona is in. The club is in massive debt and the high salaries of players make it even worse. Despite adjusting the salaries of many players last term, the salary limit is still exceeded. The management of the club is planning a massive reshuffle of the squad. They are looking to remove the dead wood from the squad as soon as possible. Samuel Umtiti and Pjanic are the most recent names to have popped up.

Clement Lenglet has been loaned to Tottenham while Trincao has left for Sporting C.P . Dani Alves’s contract ran out while the contract of others is being negotiated. This transfer Window is going to be a busy one for the Catalans. Many Departures and new arrivals are expected at Camp Nou.
