Six major Premier League clubs still in the market on the final day of the transfer window
The summer transfer window for the Premier League is closing on 30 August, at 23:00, the transfer window has been open since 14 June.
The English summer transfer window is almost to its closing and there is a flurry of motion among some major premier league clubs.
It is the final opportunity for the clubs to sign players and strengthen their squads.
There are a total of 6 premier clubs that are still in the race to sign a new player before the end of the transfer window.
Major Premier League Clubs in the race
1. Chelsea is still on the hunt for a dedicated striker
Chelsea has been one of the most active clubs in the summer transfer window, splurging out short of just 300 million euros on new player signings and also recouped almost 140 million euros through player releases.
Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, although Ivan Toney has offers from Saudi too.
2. Gunners aim to strike a potential deal with a striker
Arsenal are very interested in signing a dedicated striker for their attacking squad, although time seems to be running out for the Gunners.
Ricardo Calafiori (Bologna,42 million euros), and Mikel Mereno (Real Sociedad,31.6m euros) have had a huge impact in delivering the firepower for Mikel Arteta’s Gunners
The team still need some attacking from their arch-title rivals Manchester City.
3. City happy with their transfer Decisions
Manchester City have only made two major signings this transfer season, and they seem to be fine with it.
The Premier League title holders are looking for a replacement for the Argentinian forward, Julian Alvarez whom they sold to Atletico Madrid for 82 million euros.
City was also quite pleased with the return of Ilkay Gundogan from FC Barcelona this week
There were also major outgoings from the City’s squad which include the likes of Tommy Doyle, Joao Cancelo, Liam Delap and Sergio Gomez.
4. Manchester United looking to add a new midfielder to the squad
The summer transfer window for Manchester United has been pretty successful.
Many additions and outgoings are being monitored by the manager Erik Ten Hag, with the likes of Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs De Ligt, Leny Yoro, Noussair Mazraoui and Johsua Zirkzee at a total of 182 million euros.
Some players that are leaving the Red Devils are Christian Eriksen, Jadon Sancho and Scott McTominay who has moved to Italy with him being linked to Napoli.
5. Reds closing in on the signing of Juventus star
The only big signing for Liverpool this summer transfer window is Federico Chiesa.
The Reds are almost at the confirmation of the Juventus star for 10 million euros, although there are doubts about the fitness of the Italian Winger.
Thiago Alcantara’s retirement and Joel Matip’s leaving could keep the reds busy until the end of the transfer window.
6. Spurs likely to solidify their defence
Tottenham expects much from their new signings Dominic Solanke and Wilson Odebort at a total of 90 million euros.
Spurs have also invested in the English midfielder Archie Leeds but his departure is expected.
Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham Hotspur’s lead manager has his eyes on signing a new defender.
