Moises Caicedo and Pedro Neto want Wesley Fofana to be dropped – Here’s why

Following the return of Malo Gusto, Enzo Maresca has a decision to make. The 21-year-old right-back has been great since joining. As per wikipedia, the Blues bought him for around  €35 million. He went on to make 37 appearances last season. Even now, he continues to grow and perform for the London side. Even Maresca picked him as his preferred choice. But, the full-back would be subbed-off against Bournemouth in the game week 4 of the Premier League. As a result, he would be out due to injury. Now, he made a return in Chelsea’s 5-0 win over Barrow in the EFL Cup. So, it now depends upon the manager whether he keeps Wesley Fofana in Chelsea lineup.

Malo Gusto makes sensational return

The 21-year-old right-back only played for 45 minutes in the EFL Cup win. But, he still managed to produce for the Blues. He went on to provide an assist on his return to the field. He would set up Nkunku for his second and Chelsea’s third on the night. Maresca was using Disasi and Wesley Fofana as a right-back for Chelsea in his absence. The problem was they did not have any other natural right-back. Especially, since captain Reece James continues to struggle with injuries. So, now, we could see Malo Gusto returning against Brighton too.

Caicedo and Neto make feelings known

The right-back went on to post on social media following the cup win. As per football.london, Moises Caicedo and Pedro Neto were completely in support of the 21-year-old. It looked as if the duo is pretty happy to see Malo Gusto back on-the-field. But, that also means that space will have to be created for him. It will be harsh on Wesley Fofana since he was great for Chelsea against West Ham. We think that Fofana might still start in game week 6. Considering, the right-back is still not completely back into his groove yet.
