Man City ‘agree personal terms’ with £60 million costing full-back

Man City have agreed personal terms with Italian full-back ahead of summer window. The Sky Blues were keen to sign him in January but the deal failed to materialize. However, it is expected to get complete in summer where City could be forced to splash £60 million.

City are set for a busy summer window with Guardiola wanting a squad overhaul. Many of the current players are set to leave as their importance has decreased. One of them is Kyle Walker who is already away on loan. Walker can join AC Milan permanently at the end of this season.

Pep Guardiola is already eyeing up the options to replace Walker. Infact, he had eyes on one versatile full-back in January itself. The star in question here is Andrea Cambiaso of Juventus. However, the deal failed to materialize in winter window.

Despite failing to land the 25 year old, City have retained their interest in Cambiaso. Juventus may be forced to sell their key assets this summer if they fail to qualify for Champions League. Cambiaso is expected to cost City £60 million.

Man City agree personal terms with Andrea Cambiaso

According to Sport Witness via Football Fancast, City have taken the next step in the pursuit of Cambiaso. However, they face competition from Liverpool who are willing to replace Cambiaso with Trent Alexander Arnold.

Cambiaso is highly versatile despite mainly playing as full-back. He can play on both sides of defence whereas can also adapt in upper position. He has played as right midfielder, left midfielder and even as right winger when required.

Cambiaso will be used as right-back at the Etihad stadium. But, everyone is aware of how much Pep Guardiola likes to experiment with his players. Hence, the 25 year old can be given a completely different role too.
