Man City issue response to Cristiano Ronaldo transfer request

Man City have made their response to Cristiano Ronaldo following his transfer request. The Portuguese star wants Al-Nassr to sign Mateo Kovacic. The Saudi club are keen to sign him in the winter transfer window. They were lurking around the 30-year-old since summer. But, they could not secure a move for him. As a result, they want to move for him in January 2025. But, as per footballinsider247.com, the Croatian won’t be leaving the Etihad anytime soon. Manager Pep Guardiola rates him highly. So, he might continue playing top level football in the Premier League. It will be interesting to see where his future lies.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants Man City player

The 39-year-old Al-Nassr captain wants Kovacic by his side. Especially considering that Al-Nassr were not very active in the summer window. Meanwhile, their rivals Al-Hilal have only managed to grow stronger and stronger. So, the Portuguese international wants a good squad by his side too. He is ambitious and wants to win big trophies in Saudi too. In fact, since Cristiano Ronaldo personally wants the Man City man, Al-Nassr are planning to tempt him with a handsome wage. Now, it will be up to the Croatian if he pushes for the move or chooses to remain in Manchester.

Will Kovacic leave?

Mateo Kovacic has really stepped up his game at the Etihad. He was a key player for the Citizens when Gundogan was at Barcelona. And even now, he is doing a fine job in Rodri’s absence. Considering, both De Bruyne and Gundogan are well past their 30’s, keeping Kovacic seems like the logical move. He certainly has another couple years of top level football left in him. So, it seems like Man City won’t be fulfilling Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr’s request. The Saudi club should well be exploring alternatives.
