Man City plotting €110 million offer to replace Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne is very likely to leave Man City at the end of this season. He is said to join MLS side San Diego on a free transfer. City are now active in the market to replace the Belgian. They are linked with a €110 million move for Dutch wonderkid.

Manchester City are set to make some key changes in their squad this summer. Pep Guardiola is not impressed with the quality of current squad due to a tough season. As a result, many of the current players are set to leave to make space for new players.

Kevin De Bruyne has established himself as one of the best midfielders of all time. He joined City in 2015 and has been their most important player. Over the past 10 seasons, he has won everything there is to win at club level. But, his time at Etihad has now approached to an end.

Man City view Dutch wonderkid as De Bruyne replacement

According to Fichajes, Man City are showing strong interest in Xavi Simons. They view him as an ideal replacement for De Bruyne. The report also states that Sky Blues are prepared to spend €110 million to secure the services of Simons.

Simons is 21 years old and currently plays for RB Leipzig. He mainly plays as an attacking midfielder but can play on both wings. Despite being only 21 years old, he has established himself as a regular member of Netherlands national team. He has represented his country 26 times so far.

Simons earlier had an excellent season on loan at PSV in 2022/23. He scored 22 goals along with 11 assists in 48 games. This made Leipzig sign him in the following season. Simons has so far played 68 games for Leipzig and has contributed 18 goals along with 19 assists.
