Man City prepared to sell Grealish due to serious reason

Manchester City have emerged as one of the scariest teams in Europe under Pep Guardiola. They became the first team to win Premier League title four years in a row. Last year City won their first Champions League title and finished the season with treble. However, this summer a lot of their stars are linked with away moves. According to current reports, City are prepared to sell Jack Grealish who they signed three years ago in 2021 from Aston Villa.

Ederson Moraes and Kevin De Bruyne have been linked with a move to Saudi. The Brazilian keeper has received a huge offer from Al-Nassar whilst De Bruyne has been reported to verbally agree a deal with Al-Ittihad. Pep Guardiola has also been reported to leave the Etihad after his contract expires next season. Hence, the Spaniard will look to repeat the 2022/23 season. However, Jack Grealish who played an important role in City’s treble winning season may miss out next season in City colours.

Man City have decided to sell Grealish

According to Football Insider, City have decided to sell their 28 year old winger. The Premier League champions signed Grealish in 2021 from Villa. City paid a huge amount of £100 million after Grealish’s amazing season with Villa. In the opening two season of his City career, the English international performed very good. However, in 2023/24 season, Grealish showed a dip in his form and fell out of Guardiola’s favour. In addition, Doku who is 6 years younger than Grealish was able to fill his void and started regularly.

It is believed that City are concerned about Grealish’s partying habits. Grealish is often seen partying and having fun. Moreover in this year’s Premier League trophy parade, Grealish was seen nearly falling from the bus. Hence, it has became a concern for City and they are looking to recoup a large amount of money they paid to sign him.

Grealish has his current contract running until 2027. The club had huge expectations from the 28 year old winger. However, Grealish was unable to be at his best since his arrival at the Etihad. Due to inconsistency in his form Grealish was restricted to have only 10 starts this season in Premier League. On the other hand Jeremy Doku, who arrived to City last summer started 18 matches. Grealish was able to find the back of the net only 3 times and provided only a single assist in Premier League. Due to his poor form, Gareth Southgate excluded him from the England national team squad for Euro 2024.

Now another bad news maybe waiting for Grealish as City have decided to part ways with him. Aston Villa where Grealish began his career are interested to sign him back. However City will demand a huge price for the winger.

Grealish’s career at Etihad

Grealish joined the Premier League champions in 2021 after scoring 7 goals and providing 10 assists in 27 matches for Aston Villa throughout the 2020/21 season. In his first season at Manchester, Grealish made 39 appearances and scored 6 goals along with providing 4 assists. In 2022/23 season Grealish helped the club to win the treble by scoring 5 goals and providing 11 assists across all competitions. However, Grealish was often sidelined in 2023/24 season as Jeremy Doku was introduced by Pep Guardiola. After 3 years, Grealish’s career with City seems to end after winning an impressive amount of seven trophies.

Recently, Grealish announced that he is expecting a baby with his girlfriend Sasha Attwood. Grealish shared the news on his instagram account with a caption saying ‘life’s biggest blessing’. His girlfriend wrote ‘half of me, half of you – beyond blessed’.
