Manchester City are set for a major shakeup in their squad this summer. They are set to part ways with some of their key stars in order to make space for new players. One position which Pep Guardiola is keen to improve is midfield.
Man City showing strong interest in AC Milan star
According to TEAMtalk, Man City are showing strong intetest in Tijjani Reijnders. The Dutch midfielder is said to cost atleast €60 million. In addition, the report states that City also have Atalanta’s Ederson on their radar.
Reijnders has been with AC Milan since summer 2023. He had a decent last season. This season, the Dutch superstar has improved very much and has impressed everyone. He has scored 14 goals and picked 3 assists in 43 games.
Reijnders can play anywhere in the midfield which makes him key asset for the club. Milan are aware of his importance and hence are unwilling to part ways with him anytime soon. The player too has signed a new contract with the club.
However, Milan are set to lose Champions League football next season. This may force them to part ways with Reijnders. They would have demanded €50 million for the 26 year old but due to his new contract they are in strong position to demand €60 million.
Reijnders can be a great addition to the City squad. He can form a solid partnership with Rodri in the middle of the pitch. In addition, he can play on the upper parts of the pitch. This way, he can be seen as a perfect replacement for Kevin De Bruyne who is likely to move away from the Etihad this summer.
