Man City are set for a major summer overhaul. Pep Guardiola is not impressed with the quality of his current squad. Due to the tough current season, the Spaniard is ready to make some key changes. Many of the current players are set to leave.
One area which will see addition of new faces is midfield. But the club will also need to focus on outgoings. There are 4 midfielders linked with exit out of whom 2 may leave as free agents. One of those 2 is wanted by Turkish giants.
Man City star wanted by Galatasaray
According to Fanatik, Galatasaray are showing interest in Ilkay Gundogan. They also have interest in his partner Kevin De Bruyne who is wanted by multiple clubs across whole Europe. Pep Guardiola is ready to let both De Bruyne and Gundogan leave this summer.
Gundogan will also be out of contract this summer. He is still to receive any extension offer from City. This suggests that his time at the Etihad has came to an end. The German midfielder will leave the Sky Blues after establishing himself as legend of the club.
Gundogan has played 42 games for City this season. He has scored 2 goals and picked 3 assists. His last season came in Spain as he played for Barcelona before returning back in summer 2024. His first spell at City saw him playing 304 games for City where he scored 60 goals and picked 37 assists.
City are keen to add another attacking midfielder to their squad. They have eyes on Florian Wirtz. But, the German is also being looked upon by Bayern Munich. The 21 year old will surely cost more than £100 million.
