Man City are willing to spend as much as £51 million on AC Milan star this summer. The player has recently signed a new contract with the Italian gaints. However, it is not stopping him from being looked upon by top clubs.
City are set for a major summer overhaul. They are set to part ways with many of their currents stars. Pep Guardiola is eyeing a midfield rebuilt. As of now, the Sky Blues can be seen parting ways with Kevin De Bruyne, Mateo Kovacic, Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan.
Man City keen to land Dutch midfielder
According to CalcioMercato, City are keen to sign Tijani Reijnders. They are willing to spend in between £42 million to £51 million to secure his signature. The Dutchman recently signed a new contract with Milan but his future at Italy is still not certain.
Milan are set to miss out on UCL football next season. This will result in them losing many of their key players. As of now, they may lose Theo Hernandez, Rafael Leao and Mike Maignan. In addition, Reijnders can also opt to leave if a top club convinces him.
Reijnders can play anywhere in the midfield. He mostly plays as holding and central midfielder but can also play as attacking midfielder. He is 26 years old and in prime of his career. Hence, he can be seen as a player with instant impact.
Reijnders has been superb this season. He has played 46 games for Milan and has scored 14 goals along with picking 3 assists. He is also a regular starter for Netherlands national team. As of now, the 26 year old has represented his country on 22 occasions.
Reijnders can be a great addition to the Man City squad. He fan play alongside Rodri in the base of the midfielder. On the other hand, Pep can make him play upfront regularly. However, City will need to do everything in their power in order to convince him to join them.
