The report futher states that Atletico have Baena as their top summer target. They are confident to sign him before the Fifa Club World Cup. However, there no negotiation between Villarreal and Atletico at the moment.
Baena is 23 years old and can be seen as a long-term investment. He can play as left winger, left midfielder, attacking midfielder and central midfielder. In addition, he can also play as striker or right winger when needed which makes him a key asset for any club.
Baena has been superb fot Villarreal since the 2022/23 season. He has scored 23 goals and picked 27 assists for them in 121 games so far. In addition, he has played 9 games for Spain national team till date.
