Man United are in desperate need of a striker. They have attempted to sign Nigerian striker who enjoyed a very good season recently. He registered 44 goal involvements to impress everyone.
Manchester United are set for a major summer overhaul. They will part ways with many of their current players after a tough current season. As of now, they are ready to cash-in on both strikers – Hojlund and Zirkzee. Ruben Amorim wants a striker who can score regularly.
The Red Devils are ready to back Amorim. They wanted to sign Liam Delap but have lost the race to Chelsea. Hence, they are now monitoring other options. They hold strong interest in Viktor Gyokeres but he is wanted by multiple clubs. Hence, they might lose him too as they will miss European football.
On the other hand, United have now been reported to have made an attempt to sign Nigerian striker. The player was heavily linked with move to Premier League last summer itself. But, he was unable to complete the move due to which he spent the season with Turkish giants.
Man United made attempt to sign Nigerian striker
The player in question here is Victor Osimhen. He is 26 years old and was on loan away from Napoli to Galatasaray in 2024/25 season. Osimhen scored 37 goals and picked 7 assists for Turkish giants and is now headed back to Europe. But, he is also wants by Saudi clubs.
According to Corriere Del Mezzogiorno, Man United made attempts to sign Osimhen. But, there is nothing concrete at the moment. However, one can imagine United stepping up their interest in the quality striker like Osimhen in coming days.
Osimhen has €75 million release clause in his Napoli contract. The Serie A champions are unwilling to welcome him back. Hence, they can accept the deal on lower price to let the 26 yer old leave. The player is full of options and hence he too will have a major say in deciding the future.
