Man United handed major blow in pursuit of star striker

Man United have been handed a major blow in the pursuit of star striker. But, this will come as a boost for Chelsea and Arsenal who are both in the race.

The Red Devils are set for a summer overhaul. Ruben Amorim wants to make some key changes in the squad. He will be backed by the board due to the tough current season. One of the top priorities of the club will be to bring in a new striker.

United are not impressed with both Zirkzee and Hojlund. They are set to sell them in order to raise funds. In addition, Rashford is also linked with permanent exit. Hence, a new striker becomes a top priority with a English star on the radar for summer.

The star in question here is Liam Delap of Ipswich Town. The 22 year old has been in superb form this season. He has scored 12 goals and picked 2 assists in 31 Premier League games. The Tractor Boys are very happy with him but are still going to lose him this summer.

Ipswich are very likely to get relegated this season. Delap is too good to play in the Championship. He can be signed for £30 million with multiple clubs showing interest. But, Daily Star have reported that the 22 year old will prefer to join a club playing in European competition.

This will come as a big blow for Man United. They are on 14th position in Premier League and are set to miss European football. Their only hope to play in Europe is by winning Europa League and qualifying for UCL.

This will come as a boost for Arsenal and Chelsea. Both of these London giants have shown interest in Delap. But, the Blues can he seen leading the race as they hold long-term interest. On the other hand, Gunners are focused on big names like Gyokeres and Isak.
