- Man United are planning to sign Chelsea target Victor Osimhen
- The Red Devils are plotting a shock deal to make things happen
- The deal may involve parting ways with one of their young star who just joined them this summer
Victor Osimhen is very likely to leave Napoli permanently next year. He was open to leave this summer itself. But the deal never happened and the Nigerian had to join Galatasaray on loan.
Chelsea were the club who came very close to sign Victor Osimhen. But the deal failed to materialize due to the demanded price. The Nigerian will now be available for €75 million next summer which will attract many top clubs.
Chelsea still remain the front runners to sign Osimhen. They were even said to make a move in January itself. But the Nigerian has declined to leave the Turkish club mid-season. But now, the Blues are on alert as their rivals Man United seem to be plotting a shock move for the 25 year old.
Man United plotting a shock move to sign Osimhen
As per Il Mattino, Man United are ready to offer Joshua Zirkzee to Napoli as a part of player-plus-cash deal. The Red Devils may pay €30 million along with Dutch striker so that they can bring Osimhen to Old Trafford.
Zirkzee has joined United only this summer, but has failed to impress so far. He has been only able to score 1 goals and pick 2 assists in 17 games so far. This is far below the expectations and hence the Red Devils may part ways with him after just one season.
Osimhen will surely be an upgrade on any of the United’s current attackers. He can lead from front but the deal will depend on what Ruben Amorim thinks of the Nigerian. It is believed that Amorim will push to sign Viktor Gyokeres who reached a next level under the Portugese coach.
Lastly, Chelsea will do all in their powers to prevent United from signing Osimhen. They may open talks with the striker soon and convince him to move to West London. As of now, they still have lead to sign the 25 year old.
