Man United plotting summer swap deal with Italian club
According to The Sun, United are planning to carry a swap deal with Atalanta this summer. This will involve them sending Rasmus Hojlund back to the Italian side in replacement of Ademola Lookman. The Nigerian who has been in superb form in recent years will surely move away from Atalanta this summer.
Hojlund arrived to United from Atalanta in summer 2023. He had a good start to his career in England. The 22 year old was able to scored 16 goals in his first season at Old Trafford. But, he has failed to impress this season as he has only been able to find the back of the net 8 times.
On the other hand, Lookman has been superb since joining Atalanta. He has scored 18 goals and picked 6 assists this season in 36 games. The Nigerian is able to play as left winger, attacking midfielder and striker which will make him a key asset at Old Trafford.
However, Lookman has interest from multiple clubs across whole Europe. Hence, he may prefer to join a club playing in Champions League regular. It will be interesting to which turns will United’s pursuit of the Nigerian attacker takes in coming weeks.
