The star in question here is Antony. He is 25 year old Brazilian winger. United signed him as a talented youngster from Ajax. They splashed high amount of money to land him. But, the deal didn’t work out for both the player and the club.
Antony started to fall down the pecking order at United. As a result, he was sent on loan to Real Betis in January 2025. But, this turned out to be a very successful loan move. The Brazilian was unstoppable for Betis for whom he played 26 games. He was able to score 9 goals and pick 6 assists that left everyone amazed.

Antony is now back at United but is very unlikely to stay for another season. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian was never going to stay at United for another season. The Red Devils are also willing to part ways and this time want a permanent sale.
Romano has added that Betis are keen to sign Antony permanently. But, the player’s salary is making it hard for them to get the deal over the line. The Brazilian should agree a pay-cut in order to sign for Betis permanently. But, he also has interest from other top clubs from Europe.
Bayer Leverkusen are said to hold interest in Antony as well. They have appointed Erik Ten Hag as new manager. The Dutchman wants to reunite with his former player. In addition, Antony has interest from Atletico Madrid as well. Diego Simeone has been impressed with his recent performances in La Liga.
