Man United target highly rated Chelsea forward

The January transfer window is very close and hence there are a lot of rumours running on. Now as per the latest news, Man United are keen to sign Christopher Nkunku. The Frenchman is currently said to be unhappy at West London.

The Blues signed Nkunku last year for €60 million from Leipzig. He was unlucky as he faced back to back injuries in his debut season for Chelsea. Nkunku only played 14 games last season.

Now, Nkunku seems very fit this season and is Chelsea’s highest goalscorer this season with 10 goals. But only 1 of those 10 have cane in Premier League. It is because Maresca prefers Nicolas Jackson over him. Nkunku has only made 1 start in Premier League this season and has only played 155 minutes across 10 games.

Nkunku is not even a striker but has to adapt and play due to high competition for starting positions. Now, Nkunku is said to ve unhappy due to lack of playing time. Hence he may leave the club very soon in search of regular game time at highest level.

Man United linked with a move for Christopher Nkunku

According to L’Equipe, the Red Devils are planning to make a move for Nkunku. They are even planning to make a move in January itself. The move will seem to fit Nkunku too as he will get more chances at United when compared to Chelsea.

United may receive heavy competition from other clubs. The Blues will also have a big say about Nkunku’s future. They have him tied with a contract running until 2029 and it does not have a release clause. Chelsea have even said that they are unwilling to sell the player as they prefer a good squad depth.

But, Nkunku may force a move if he does not get enough chances soon. Another reason why he can leave is the Blues are still keen to sign another attacker. As of now they want to sign another striker with Victor Osimhen their primary target.
