Man United target three Bundesliga fullbacks

According to reports, Man United may try to strengthen their full-back department with a number of signings. And they are especially interested to look into the Bundesliga options.

Ruben Amorim’s system works in a 3-4-2-1 formation. Where the wing backs play the most vital role. And currently his system is relying on players like Amad and Dalot on the wings. However, the department undoubtedly needs some reinforcements.

Particularly on the left flank as players like Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw is very much injury prone. There is still no guarantee if they can continue at Old Trafford with those physical issues. German journalist Christian Falk listed three Bundesliga full-backs. That the Red Devils are now considering in his most recent piece for The Daily Briefing.

Man United targets

Alphonso Davies, one of the best left-backs in the world, is the first name on the shortlist of Man United. Although the 24-year-old’s contract is about to expire, Bayern Munich and his camp have recently made progress in their negotiations to extend it. The Red Devils may have a brief window of opportunity. As Falk stated earlier today that the player’s agent was annoyed by Max Eberl, Bayern’s head of sport. However, it is reported that the Los Blancos are also on the line for the Canadian superstar.

David Raum is the Red Devil’s other left-back option. Since the summer of 2022, the German has been playing football for RB Leipzig, and his contract is set to expire in June 2027. Interestingly, Falk revealed that if Davies decides to leave the team, Raum might end up being a target for Bayern.

And the other one in the list is Konrad Laimer. Though he is originally a midfielder but recently is frequently being used at right-back. His name was also mentioned by the German journalist. The 27-year-old Austrian is currently at Bayern and would also try to stay there. But if a bidder offers him a more important role than the one he now plays at Bayern, he could change his mind.

Author’s opinion:

Football Express says, before making these kinds of decisions Man United must consult with the coach and the management. As the injured players are slowly recovering at the camp. And if players like Davies or Raum do comes in, it will make things harder for Amorim. Young players like Amad and Garnacho would not get enough minutes.
