Man United to rival Chelsea in signing of Portugese Ace

Man United have joined Chelsea in the race to sign Portugese attacker this summer. The player has been world-class and is ready to leave his current club. Bayern Munich are also in the race to sign him.

Man United are in need of attacking players this summer. They have already signed Matheus Cunha. In addition, they are very close to sign Bryan Mbeumo. But, the Red Devils are not willing to stop and have now joined the race for Portugese winger.

On the other, Chelsea are also in need of new winger. They have sent Jadon Sancho back whereas Mudryk is already missing due to doping. As a result, the Blues are keen to bring in a left winger. They have strong interest the Portugese star.

Man United join Chelsea in race for Portugese star

The star in question here is Rafael Leao of AC Milan. The Italian giants will miss UCL football next season. Hence, they are likely to lose many of their top players. Leao wants to leave the club and Milan are ready to let him leave.

Leao has been a long term target for Chelsea. The Blues have tried to sign him in 2022 but failed. They can try once again this summer. But, they are joined by Bayern Munich. The German giants have made Leao their top target.

According to Fichajes, Man United have now joined the race to sign Leao. Milan are ready to sell Leao for around €100 million. This is a very hefty transfer fee but it is lot less than his original €175 million release clause.

United may struggle to land Leao over top clubs like Chelsea and Bayern. They will not feature in any of the European competitions. Hence, this can give other clubs playing in UCL a lead above them.

Chelsea do have many other options in the market. They are top contenders to sign Jamie Gittens from Dortmund. In addition, they also have Alejandro Garnacho available in market. Hence, they might opt to not go for Leao.
