Man United have strong interest in one Chelsea target. They are expected to go at him very strong in the summer after a quiet January transfer window.
United and Chelsea made only 1 signing each in this transfer window. The Blues signed Mathis Amougou for €15 million. On the other hand, the Red Devils landed Patrick Dorgu for €30 million. They also signed Ayden Heaven from Arsenal but he is expected to play for academy team.
Both, United and Chelsea were keen to sign a striker this window. But, they were unable to land anyone due to the critical time of the season. However, they are very likely to fulfill their wish in the summer window.
Man United keen to sign Liam Delap in summer
Chelsea have been linked with Liam Delap since a long time. They are impressed with the 21 year old and want to add him to their squad. They want Delap to act as backup for Nicolas Jackson and eventually compete for the starting position.
According to Daily Express, Man United are also holding strong interest in Delap. They are keen to sign the 21 year old in summer after parting ways with their current strikers. Hence, the Blues will now have an increased competition in the pursuit of young Englishman.
Delap is also looked upon by Tottenham Hotspur. The 21 year old only joined Ipswich Town in summer on permanent deal. The Tractor Boys are unwilling to sell him just yet but it will be impossible for them to keep hold of him. They are in relegation zone which is making other clubs very easy to convince Delap.
Delap has scored 9 goals and picked 2 assists in Premier League this season. He is tied to Ipswich with contract running until 2029 and hence any interested club will need to pay a hefty fee for him. It will be interesting to see which jersey Delap will wear next season.
