The star in question here is United’s academy graduate Alejandro Garnacho. He is 20 years old and has been very good for the Red Devils. But, the Argentine has failed to impress in recent seasons due to which United are ready to cash-in on him. Thr money earned from his sale will be counted as pure profit.
United were open to sell Garnacho in the January window itself. At that time, he was wanted by both Chelsea and Napoli. But, none of the clubs were able to move ahead in the pursuit. As a result, Garnacho had to stay at United.
United have no intention to keep Garnacho beyond this season. Chelsea are still showing interest to sign him. According to Daily Star, the Red Devils have told the Blues that it will require them to pay £65 million to sign Garnacho.
Chelsea are in need of left winger. They are likely to lose all Nkunku, Joao Felix and Mudryk this summer. But, they want a player who is adaptable on both wings as well as in middle. Hence, Garnacho is viewed as top target by them due to his age, versatality and experience in Premier League.
