Manchester United are currently leading the race to sign Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo this June.
Antoine Semenyo is one of Utd’s targets this summer
Ruben Amorim is already looking ahead to a major summer shake-up at Old Trafford. Furthermore, Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo has jumped to the top of his list.
The Man Utd manager is a fan of the Ghanaian forward and they’re not about to let him go without a fight. And he is thought to have a definite vision for how to fit the 25-year-old into his new attacking system. His speed, strength, and quality will be great for Amorim’s play.
But acquiring the player is not going to be straightforward. Liverpool, Tottenham, and other top-six clubs (excluding Arsenal) are also sniffing around. They are hoping to lure the winger away from the south coast.
Bournemouth hold the cards in transfer talks
Bournemouth won’t let Antoine go without a fight. The Cherries reportedly value him at a hefty £70 million. And given he has four years left on his deal it will not be straight forward. They’re in no rush to cash in. Manchester United, on the other hand, are trying to be smart with their summer budget.
Several big names like Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, and Antony likely heading out the door. Utd need fresh firepower but are also trying to manage their spending.
There is the suggestion of a player-plus-cash deal to make the offer attractive. Especially, if Bournemouth are open to negotiate in the fee structure. That is similar to the £65m Solanke deal they struck with Spurs.
The Red Devils are in desperate need of goals and spark in attack. Semenyo is continuing to catch the eye in the Premier League. So, this is one to watch closely. If Amorim gets his way, the Bournemouth star could be lighting up Old Trafford next season.
