Man Utd Line Up Liam Delap After Closing in on Matheus Cunha

Manchester United are planning to make their move for Ipswich Town star Liam Delap after sealing Matheus Cunha’s deal as per reports.

Liam Delap to Leave relegated Ipswich Town for Utd ?

Manchester United are ready to pull the trigger on a move for Ipswich Town star Liam Delap. They are already onto the signing of Wolves forward Matheus Cunha. The Red Devils are nearing the final stages of a deal for the Wolves’ striker.

Talks with the Brazilian’s camp have gone well. And his £62.5m release clause is likely to be triggered soon. New boss Ruben Amorim plans to use Cunha in a creative role just behind the main striker. That leaves room for another big addition up top.

According to Football Insider, Utd’s next target is Delap. The young Englishman has impressed at Ipswich Town. He is now Utd’s No.1 pick ahead of top strikers like Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen.

Delap Eyes Top Move as United Face Competition

While United are leading the race for Delap, other clubs are also lining up for his signature. The 21-year-old is attracting interest from several big clubs, including Chelsea, Newcastle, Bayer Leverkusen, and RB Leipzig. All of them are reportedly ready to trigger his modest release clause.

However, Delap must be willing to play in Europe. That means Utd’s Europa League campaign could be key in landing him. If they lift the trophy, their chances of landing the forward go up big time.

The young forward is likely to choose his next destination before the U21 Euros kick off on June 11. Chelsea are pushing hard and could potentially steal the deal if United don’t move quickly.

The Red Devils are also tracking a top Argentine youngster and a backup striker. It’s clear they have a Plan B if Delap slips away. This summer window, Amorim looks to rebuild the attack and bring fresh firepower to a team in need of goals.
