Manchester City open to selling their star to Juventus

Manchester City are reportedly willing to sell their star English winger this summer. And Juventus could be in the race to sign Raheem Sterling to replace their star forward Cristiano Ronaldo in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Sterling has recently lost his position in the Starting XI for the big games. After his horrific miss in the last season’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Lyon, Pep Guardiola seems reluctant to give him starts in important matches. Phil Foden has taken over his position on the left-hand side.

However, the 26-year-old winger has been in pretty decent form in this season. He appeared in 44 matches in all competitions for the Cityzens and managed to score 13 times and assisted 11 goals.

The blue half of Manchester bought Sterling in the summer of 2015 for €63.7 million from Liverpool. Currently, the English man has a contract with Guardiola’s side until June 2023.

Will Juventus buy Sterling from Manchester City?

According to reports, Guardiola’s side are open to selling their star Raheem Sterling to be able to bring new signings. Juventus are looking to sign the star English winger from Manchester City if Ronaldo decides to leave the club at the end of this season.

Ronaldo has been a crucial part of Juventus’ first-team squad. He showed his value yet again on Sunday against Udinese. Where he dragged his team out of a certain defeat to a victory with a scintillating brace.

The 36-year-old forward has made 40 appearances in all competitions for the record Serie A champions. The forward managed to find the back of the net 34 times and assisted 4 times.

However, this shows that Sterling’s number is nowhere near the numbers of the Portuguese legend. This could be very difficult for the English man to replace Ronaldo at Allianz Stadium.

However, Sterling has a lot of time to improve and develop himself. He could reach the goal-scoring stats of Ronaldo if the 26-year-old winger gets regular first-team football at the Bianconeri

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the two best forwards in world football. Will Ronaldo leave Juventus and will the Old Lady of Turin go after Raheem Sterling? We just have to wait until the transfer window opens.
