Manchester City vs PSG: UCL Semi-final Preview and Lineups

This Tuesday, Manchester City will host PSG for the second leg of the Champions League semi-final. On April 28, it was PSG who hosted Manchester City at the Parc des Princes. They were by far the favorites before this match. Against all expectations, it was Manchester City which won the first leg of this Semi-final 2-1.

In the first round, PSG led the game in the first half. It was Marquinhos who scored the first goal in the 15th minute following an assist from Di Maria. After this first-half victory for PSG, Manchester City came back strongly for the second half.

They managed to better organize their game, and have good team cohesion. This is what allowed them to equalize in the 64th minute with the goal of Kevin De Bruyne. It was Riyad Mahrez who definitely increased the gap by scoring a goal 20 minutes before the end of the game.

On the eve of the game, Manchester City are the favorite. Their place as favorites is due to their impressive victory in the first leg. However, PSG is ready to do anything to get their place in the final of the Champions League. Neymar says he is ready to “die on the field” to get this qualification.

A defeat of 1-2 at home decreases their chances of qualification and victory in the second game. For the Champions League semi-final second leg between PSG and Manchester City, Bjorn Kuipers will be the referee.

The man with the whistle has already refereed PSG this season, against Barca last February, in the first leg of the Round of 16, where PSG won 4-1. It is, therefore, a good memory for the club, who will have a lot to do this time.

Mauricio Pochettino has only one training session left to prepare his team for the semi-final against Manchester City. PSG will be without Idrissa Gueye who is banned after his red card during the first leg. To replace the Senegalese midfielder in the starting XI, it is expected that Marco Verrratti will start rather than Danilo, and play in front of the defense alongside Leandro Paredes.

On the Manchester City side, Pep Guardiola should propose a team composition very close or even similar to the one of the first leg. The Spanish coach was satisfied with his team’s performance and was able to rest almost all his players on Saturday in the Premier League.

PSG : Navas; Florenzi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Diallo; Paredes, Verratti; Di Maria, Neymar, Kean; Icardi

Manchester City : Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Zinchenko; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, Silva, Foden
