Manchester United 1-0 West Ham United post-match analysis:

Manchester United dominated the possession and they tried to break the Hammers stubborn defence was the pattern of the game but they were too slow in the build-up play and they didn’t have many clear chances.

United came closest from breaking the deadlock when Telles’ corner was headed toward the goal by Victor Lindelof but his effort deflected and it took the pace of the ball and Lukasz Fabianski brilliantly saved the attempt and it went wide of the post.

In the second half, Manchester United got even worse; they could not play their game and West Ham United tried to counter-attack.

Marcus Rashford got the best chance of the game but he took too long and in the end his shot was saved by hammers’ keeper.

Manchester United broke through the stubborn West Ham defence in extra time from a trademark counter-attack and a great finish from McTominay off his instep of the right foot.

At the end of the game, Martial had a great opportunity to score second but his poor finishing in front of the goal continued.

West Ham United could not threaten United defence at all and overall in 120 minutes of the game they were unable to manage a single on target.

Notable performances:

Scott McTominay(CM) – (7.5/10)(Manchester United): Came in into the second half and scored his third consecutive goals in three games. He looked lively and he is coming in his best.
