Manchester United beat Wolves by 1-0 at Old Trafford from a very late goal from Marcus Rashford on Tuesday night.

With this victory, Manchester United now move up to 2nd position just two points behind Liverpool. They now have 30 points in 15 games. Wolverhampton Wanderers are now 12th place with 21 points in 16 matches.

Manchester United:

David De Gea(GK) – (7/10): Looked very good and made few excellent saves as well. He is showing his old form again.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka(RB) – (6/10): Went forward but couldn’t provide anything significant for the forward players and defensively looked solid.

Eric Bailly(CB) – (6.5/10): Stopped a few counter-attacks and did well in his third outing in just a week.

Harry Maguire(CB) – (7/10): He was a calm influence in defence and did a good job against quick attackers also passed the ball nicely.

Alex Telles(LB) – (6/10): Played well going forward but could not find the final ball. In the end, substituted at the half time.

Nemanja Matic(CDM) – (8/10): He was excellent at the heart of the midfield, distribution was excellent and defensively made few great interceptions as well.

Paul Pogba(CM) – (6/10): Not his best performance but tried to create for his forward players and hit an almost perfect technical shot in the second half.

Bruno Fernandes(CAM) – (6.5/10): Overall a not good performance but the long ball for the goal was awesome. Missed a great chance in the first half.

Mason Greenwood(RW) – (5/10): Wasn’t a good performance but produced a great cross in the first half, but apart from that nothing much to mention.

Edinson Cavani(CF) – (6/10): Looked energetic and worked very hard. Scored a goal but disallowed for offside.

Marcus Rashford(LW) – (7/10): Didn’t look good throughout the match but came up with the most important contribution for his team at the 93rd minute of the game off his left foot.

Used Substitutions: 

Luke Shaw(LB) – (6.5/10): Came on at half time and stopped the threat of Adama Traore immediately and went forward well.

Anthony Martial(LW) – (6/10): Like his teammates struggled to break the Wolves defence but tracked back his man to help out the defence.

Scott McTominay(CM) – (N/A): Didn’t have time to do anything.

Wolverhampton Wanderers:

Rui Patricio(GK) – (7/10): Showed his quality and reflex. Made two excellent saves but could not do anything for the goal as it deflected and put him on the wrong foot.

Conor Coady(CB) – (6/10): Didn’t have to do anything significant, just a handball scare in the second half.

Romain Saiss(CB) – (7.5/10): Excellent display from him in defence and attack as well but unlucky to concede the goal of his deflection.

Max Kilman(CB) – (6/10): Did his job well but conceded the goal from his side, overall he did very well.

Ki-Jana Hoever(RWB) – (6/10): Made his first Premier League start but didn’t look like that he looked very good and he might be a better option than Nelson Semedo.

Rayan Ait-Nouri(LWB) – (6/10): Did good but looked tired at the end and eventually pay the price.

Joao Moutinho(CM) – (6.5/10): Delivery from set-pieces were excellent and overall an excellent game from him.

Ruben Neves(CM) – (6.5/10): Had a powerful strike and saved by De Gea. Worked very hard in midfield.

Vitinha(CAM) – (6/10): Showed some good touches but could not do anything important and taken off in the second half.

Adama Traore(CF) – (6/10): Started the game brilliantly but didn’t have much joy against Shaw in the second half.

Pedro Neto(CF) – (6/10): He was a threat in the first half but could not do much in the second half.

Used Substitutions:

Daniel Podence(CAM) – (5.5/10) He came on early in the second half for Vitinha but couldn’t do anything.

Fabio Silva(CF) – (5.5/10): Replaced Neto but did nothing in last half an hour.

Man of the match:

Nemanja Matic is our man of the match, he shielded the defence excellently and did very well with the ball and he was good at defending by himself.
