Manchester United are ready to plot moves for a “trio” of midfielders during this transfer window. The Red Devils have been under a lot of speculation due to their performances recently. One of their concern is their midfield, which has been a subject of discussion in and around Old Trafford. Following this, Ralf Ragnick will look to add some young talented midfielders to his current squad.
With almost 11 players in United’s squad ready to move away from the club in January, they have a number of forwards and midfielders who are out of contract this summer and they are seeking an exit from the club. Therefore, it will be an important transfer window for Manchester United who needs to step up their game in order to play in Europe next season.
The Red Devils are currently 7th in the Premier League table with 31 points. United are just 4 points away from the top four and they will try to refresh their squad this month. They might line up meetings with three midfielders in the coming weeks after gaining more clarity about the current players in their squad. Paul Pogba, Donny Van de Beek, Jesse Lingard, and Juan Mata are all unexpected to stay at United.
Frank Kessie, Boubacar Kamara and Dennis Zakaria are the three midfielders on the radar of Manchester United
What can the trio offer to the current United squad:-
Frank Kessie
Frank Kessie will be without contract at the end of this season and he could leave as a free agent. Meanwhile, he has also refused to extend his contract with the Rossonero. The Ivorian is a very hard-working central-midfielder whose creativity and goal-scoring abilities have caught the attention of Ralf Ragnick’s side.
Kessie is also a very efficient player who loves running on the pitch with and without the ball. The 25-year-old has a pass completion of 89.7% which is good for someone who has not played in the premier league. Kessie will be available for free this summer and he is free to hold meetings with other clubs.
Boubacar Kamara
Boubacar Kamara’s contract is also on the verge of expiry and he could be available for free at the end of this season. He can also sign a pre-contract with any club if he fails to agree on fresh terms with Marseille. Kamara rejected deadline-day moves to Wolves and Newcastle United during the summer transfer window of 2021.
The Red Devils are reportedly monitoring the situation of the French midfielder at Marseille. The Frenchman is an important player for the Ligue 1 outfit and he has been vital for his club this season as well. Kamara has the potential to become one of the most attractive players, who will also be available for free next year.
Dennis Zakaria
Reports in the past suggested that Manchester United have made contacts with Dennis Zakaria. However, the Red Devils will face stiff competition from other clubs as well. Therefore, to avoid any competition they will reportedly have to offer him a €10-12million (£8.4m-£10m) signing on bonus. Borussia Monchengladbach will let him move if the correct offer arrives.
Meanwhile, Zakaria will become a free agent this summer as his contract with the club will expire later in June. There is no agreement between Zakaria and Monchengladbach over a new contract as of now. It appears likely that the Swiss will be seeking a move away from Borussia park at the end of his contract.
