As per multiple reports, Manchester United are set to sign Brighton’s 23 year old goal scorer Elisabeth Terland. It has been reported that the deal is close and United will definitely sign the young striker.
Manchester United started their transfer campaign with sadness. Their goalkeeper Mary Earps has left Old Trafford on a free transfer to French giants, Paris Saint Germain. Alongside Earps, club captain Katie Zelem has also left the reds after her contract expired. Zelem was part of the first senior United women’s team which was formed back in 2018 and played over 100 matches for the Reds.
It has also been reported Nikita Parris is also out of contract and with the offers that are coming up for her from various clubs, it wouldn’t be a surprise if she goes out for a new adventure. Manchester United’s striker Lucia Garcia will also be leaving this summer. The Spanish star scored 16 goals in 60 appearances, including scoring a brace in the FA Cup final against Tottenham where the Reds won 4-0. She will joining the Mexican club Monterey in this summer.
But United have found the perfect replacement for Lucia Garcia. They are very close to sign Brighton’s star striker Elisabeth Terland.

Why Manchester United need Terland
With Lucia Garcia leaving, Manchester United had no other choice but to buy another world class striker. They have put their hopes on Brighton’s striker Elisabeth Terland. The 23 year old Norwegian was in a terrific form last season. In 22 matches, she scored 13 goals and finished as the second highest goal scorer in the Women’s Super League.
Elisabeth Terland is very good on the ball and knows how to shoot a ball perfectly from any distance. However, she still lacks a bit of offensive awareness due to which many times she finds herself in an offside position. But it can easily be sorted with practice and good amount of match time.
United’s best ever finish in the league was 2nd. But with the signing of Elisabeth Terland, it could increase the team’s number of goals which might help them win the league. With the leaving of many senior players, a new batch of players could help them achieve what they have never done before.
