Manchester United identifies Aurelien Tchouameni as Pogba replacement

AS Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni is garnering interest from top clubs in Europe with his impressive performance this season. Reports now suggest that the 21-year-old is being monitored by Manchester United.

According to ESPN, Manchester United are considering bringing in Aurelien Tchouameni to replace another French midfielder. The Red Devils think Tchouameni is the ideal replacement for Paul Pogba.

Pogba has not renewed his contract with Manchester United and could leave them for free at the end of the season. As a result, Manchester United are hoping that Aurelien Tchouameni can be the perfect candidate if Pogba decides to leave.

The contract situation of Paul Pogba has been tricky with the midfielder not ready to sign a new contract. He also has 5 caps for France national team and was part of their UEFA Nation League winning, starting in the Final against Spain.

A more central midfielder, Tchouameni have also appeared in the defensive role. While this will help Manchester United, who are in desperate need of a defensive midfielder. Reports suggest that Monaco will be ready to sell him for a fee in the range of €50m and €60m. However, the deal could ultimately depend on the departure of Pogba.
