Ecuador international has attracted attention from many Premier League clubs, with Manchester United and West Ham United being the frontrunners.
Caicedo has been an integral part of the club since 2014. He joined the Youth Academy at the age of 13 and made his first-team appearance in 2019.
He was a part of the team that won their first professional trophy. In November 2019, they defeated Colon de Santa to win the Copa Sudamericana.
The teenage midfielder made his international debut for Ecuador in a 1-0 loss to Argentina in the FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers on 9th October 2020. However, his first international goal came in the 4-2 win against Uruguay on 13th October 2020. In addition to the goal, Caicedo also became the first player from the 21st century to score in the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying Round.
PREMIER LEAGUE CLUBS INCLUDING MANCHESTER UNITED BIDDING FOR CAICEDO:
Moises drew a lot of attention after his rise in form since October and his introduction to the National Team.
West Ham United is said to have officially contacted for a potential move. David Moyes has mentioned that they will be using the transfer window if a proper offer appears.
“If we can and we think there is something available the owner would try and do it. But obviously like everybody else we’re in a difficult situation financially. We won’t be daft.”– David Moyes on asked about his transfer plans this week
On the other hand, Manchester United are the club that has more chances and is observing the situation. The Red Devils are investing in talented youths rather than spend big money on star players. Or as Ed Woodward mentioned, “Cultural Reboot”.
Moises is a holding or box-to-box player. In other words, the player is perfectly fitting in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s plan.
Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo were signed by United in the above process with the prior playing for the U-23’s. Amad has received his work permit from the UK, so he will be completing his move in January.
Moises Caicedo is priced at €6 million which is pretty affordable. However, Independiente is asking for 20% of the sale if the player is further sold in the future.
But, if both the clubs were to arrange an official bid, Moises Caicedo is most likely to opt for Manchester United.
“Manchester United are my favourite club. I really like the game of N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, I learn a lot from them every time I see them and I always try to do what they do, that’s why they are there.”– Moises Caicedo mentioned in an interview
