Ousmane Dembele to join Manchester United on loan?

Manchester United are still in the market for a right-winger after failing to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window. Barcelona outcast Ousmane Dembele is re-emerged as a January loan target for the Red Devils.

According to several reports, Ed Woodward refused to pay the asking price set by the German club. This resulted in the young English winger staying in Germany.

Manchester United were also looking at other options in the market considering Sancho’s asking price. Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele was one of the names on Manchester United’s list.

The young Frenchman has had an impressive career which has seen him play in three different leagues namely Ligue 1, Bundesliga, and La Liga. Ousmane Dembele burst into the scene at Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais FC where he scored 12 goals and assisted 5 times in 26 games.

Ousmane Dembele at Borussia Dortmund caught the eyes of many European Giants. The ambipedal explosive dribbler scored 10 goals and assisted a whopping 22 times in 50 games. Dembele’s injury and attitude problems started here in Dortmund.

Ousmane Dembele has suffered multiple injuries in his very short career. The Frenchman has already missed 80 matches due to injury and now four Hamstring injuries already.

However, this is not the only flaw in Ousmane Dembele’s game. At Borussia Dortmund, Dembele refused to train at one point in time as he wanted a move away from the German side. This continued after he got his dream transfer to Barcelona as well.

At Barcelona, Ousmane Dembele turned up late for training sessions, played video games late into the night and simply didn’t turn up for training somedays without notice due to a “stomach bug” as he calls it.

Ousmane Dembele might have his fair share of problems but the one thing everyone agrees with is his potential. Even with his injuries and supposed attitude problems Ousmane Dembele continues to be a target for the European Elites.

Ousmane Dembele is expected to start in Barcelona’s next fixture against Osasuna in La Liga.

Manchester United were on the lookout for a Right Winger till the last day of the summer transfer window. They finally signed the young rising prospect Amad Diallo Traore from Atalanta BC for €41 million (21m + 20m addons). This fee might seem like it’s too high, but with the sheer amount of talent, Amad Traore has he is going right to the very top.

This being said, Amad Traore is still 18 years old and won’t fit right into the spot for Manchester United. This is why the Premier League club is looking towards Ousmane Dembele again.

Manchester United are in no condition to sign Dembele permanently in January but will be looking for a possible loan deal with the option to buy in the summer.

If the Red Devils manage to pull off this transfer, they will potentially have one of the best if not the best front threes in the Premier League. Signing the Frenchman would allow Mason Greenwood to play in his preferred role as a Center Forward. The up and coming crop of forwards could also learn a thing or two about dribbling from the Frenchman.
