Manchester United are serious about signing Arsenal target who has been excellent in recent years. The star in question is Brazilian midfielder Ederson who has excelled in his time at Atalanta.
Ederson is one of the main stars for Italian club. He has established himself as regular starter in past three seasons. His top performances have earned him a call from Brazili national team as well.
Firstly, Gunners were planning to make a move for Ederson. They will be in need of midfielders next year due to the current situation. Both Thomas Partey and Jorginho are set to leave the club at the end of season as free agents.
Ederson is 25 years old and can be a perfect replacement for Partey and Jorginho. He played 53 games for Atalanta last year so he looks like someone on whom Arteta can reply on completely for full season. But now, Arsenal have heavy competition from their English rivals.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg has recently tweeted that United are plotting a move for Ederson. He has added that they are seriously interested in signing the 25 year old next year. United have good relation with Atalanta and hence they can get the deal done.
The Red Devils are in transition phase right now. There are many changes expected in the next year. Firstly, players like Eriksen and Casemiro can head out due to their age and dip in form. In addition, Mason Mount has been highly injury prone which opens space for another midfielder.
Ederson can replace both Eriksen and Casemiro and can even do the same with Mount. He seems like a good fit for Ruben Amorim who plays 4 midfielders. But, the player will also have his say as he will have to give up Champions League football in order to join United.
