Arsenal could lose two top summer targets, as Manchester United eye Joan Garcia and Benjamin Sesko
Manchester United are ready to go after their summer targets
Manchester United are about to ruin Arsenal‘s plans this summer by pursuing two of their priority targets. They are tracking Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia and RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.
The Gunners had already agreed personal terms with the Spanish stopper after a failed bid last year. But, now United are stepping in.
Andre Onana is under heavy fire for inconsistent form. The new United boss Ruben Amorim wants a fresh face between the sticks.
Garcia, just 23, has impressed in La Liga. And with a €30m release clause, he’s will be a serious option for Utd’s rebuild.
Arsenal, on the other hand, were lining him up as backup to David Raya. That could give the Red Devils the edge in convincing the Espanyol keeper to make the switch.
Sesko Tipped to Join United Over Gunners
While the battle for Garcia heats up, United are also pushing hard for Benjamin Sesko. He is another player on the target list of Arsenal.
The 20-year-old Slovenian striker has been on Mikel Arteta’s list of targets for months. The north London side even held positive talks with his camp. But Man Utd have a secret weapon in Christopher Vivell. Vivell brought Sesko to both Salzburg and Leipzig during his Red Bull days.
Vivell was seen watching him live in Leipzig’s 3-2 win over Wolfsburg. That shows the clear intent. The Slovenian striker’s release clause is currently at €70m and possibly rising to €80m.
It will likely make a huge push for the Red Devils.. Amorim reportedly sees him as a strong replacement for Rasmus Hojlund. The Dane hasn’t lived up to expectations.
According to journalist David Ornstein, the RB Leipzig forward is now likely to join the Old Trafford club.
If Utd manage to pull off this €110m double swoop, it could be a huge blow to Arsenal’s transfer plans. That will be a great sign for the Red Devils heading into the new campaign.
